Akyekyere, June 15, 2026 – The Wassa Amenfi District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has urged members of the Hairdressers and Tailors Association at Akyekyere to uphold constitutional values and exercise their rights responsibly in the digital era.
Addressing the association during a civic education program, the District Director of the Commission, Mr. Anthony Kelvin Amoo, emphasized that the Constitution governs the conduct of citizens both offline and online. He noted that as digital technology continues to shape communication and business activities, citizens must ensure that their actions on digital platforms remain within the confines of the law.
Speaking on the theme, “Upholding Our Constitution in a Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility,” Mr. Amoo reminded participants that every Ghanaian has civic duties to perform under Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution. He encouraged the hairdressers and tailors to remain professional in their respective fields and contribute positively to national development.
He further stressed the need for responsible use of social media and other digital platforms, urging participants to respect the rights of others and avoid activities that undermine peace, security, and social cohesion.
Also addressing the gathering, the Director of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC), Mr. Samuel A. Ampadu, encouraged participants to leverage the opportunities offered by the digital space to promote their businesses. According to him, effective use of online platforms for advertising and marketing could help expand their customer base and improve business growth.
Mr. Ampadu noted that thriving businesses contribute significantly to local economic development and urged the participants to embrace digital tools to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
The program formed part of efforts by the NCCE to deepen public understanding of constitutional values and promote responsible citizenship in an increasingly digitalized society.
