The Sunyani West District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), as part of activities marking the 2026 Citizenship Week Celebration, visited pupils of Odomase Model Junior High School on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, to educate them on responsible online behavior and constitutional values in the digital space.
The program was held under the national theme, “Growing Up Digital: The Ghanaian Child Upholding the Constitution Online.”
Miss Esther Antwiwaa Boahen, a National Service Person attached to the office, served as the resource person for the engagement. She explained to the pupils that the 1992 Constitution of Ghana guarantees the rights and responsibilities of every citizen, and that such responsibilities must also be upheld when using digital platforms and social media.
She encouraged the pupils to use the internet responsibly by showing respect to others online, protecting themselves from harmful content and activities, and speaking against cyberbullying and other forms of online abuse.
Miss Boahen further urged the students to become responsible digital citizens who promote positive values and contribute to creating a safe online environment for all.
The pupils actively participated in the discussion and expressed excitement throughout the program by asking relevant questions on online safety and responsible use of social media.
