NCCE Sissala East Strengthens Partnership with Ghana Police Service

The Sissala East Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Ghana Police Service following a courtesy call on the newly appointed Municipal Police Commander, DSP Julius Akpalime.

The NCCE delegation, led by the Municipal Director, Mr. Hussein Elyasu, visited the Police Commander at his office to welcome him to the municipality and discuss ways of enhancing cooperation between the two institutions in promoting civic education, peace, and public safety.

During the meeting, Mr. Elyasu highlighted the longstanding partnership between the NCCE and the Ghana Police Service, outlining several collaborative initiatives undertaken over the years. These include educational visits by students to police stations, joint radio and community sensitization program on police-community relations and community policing, and the participation of police officers as resource persons during NCCE civic education program.

He also noted the close cooperation between the two institutions during elections, with both serving on each other's election-related platforms, including the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) coordinated by the NCCE and the Police Election Security Taskforce.

Mr. Elyasu expressed optimism that the cordial relationship would continue under the leadership of DSP Akpalime, stressing that sustained collaboration would contribute to promoting law and order as well as civic responsibility within the municipality.

DSP Julius Akpalime thanked the NCCE delegation for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Commission. He assured the team of the Ghana Police Service's readiness to support NCCE program and activities aimed at educating the public and maintaining peace and security in the municipality.
