NCCE Promotes Civic Consciousness Through the Study of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana

The NCCE office in Kumbungu District organised a quiz competition that featured four basic schools: Nibrasiat E/A JHS, Sunnia E/A JHS, Kumbungu D/A JHS BLK A, and Kumbungu D/A JHS BLK B. The quiz was under the theme “Ghana’s Future, Our Collective Responsibility”, and was aimed at urging students to develop interest in the reading of the 1992 Constitution. The NCCE Kumbungu District Director, Madam Janet Amesya, who also served as the quiz mistress, emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering civic awareness.

At the end of the quiz, Kumbungu D/A JHS BLK A emerged as the winner, with Sunnia E/A JHS placing second and Kumbungu D/A JHS BLK B and Nibrasiat E/A JHS placing third and fourth, respectively. The event was attended by officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES), school heads, patrons of Civic Education Clubs, and the Zoosimli Youth Association. GES Inspector, Mr. Napari, praised the initiative and assured continued support for similar programmes.

At the end of the competition, contestants of the winning schools received awards, certificates, and copies of the 1992 Constitution. The NCCE reaffirmed its commitment to promoting civic education among students.
