The Garu District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has intensified public sensitisation on its Annual Constitution Week Celebration. The office engaged market women, churches and mosques, community members, artisans, and dressmakers within the district.
Speaking to five Savings and Loans groups on the theme of the celebration, "We are One, Ghana First", Mr. Samuel Akolgo, Principal Civic Education Officer (PCEO) explained the core values and principles contained in the preamble of the Constitution and encouraged them to respect and uphold these core values and principles as their civic responsibility for nation-building, peaceful co-existence, and national cohesion.
He further appealed to citizens to be ready and willing to take the COVID-19 vaccine when it is available in the District.
The purpose of the Constitution Week is to enhance quality Citizenship among the people for effective democratic participation.
