NCCE Biakoye and Ghana National Fire Service Explore Partnership on Community Safety

The Biakoye District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education paid a courtesy visit to the Biakoye District Fire Station at Nkonya Ahenkro on Tuesday, 2nd June 2026.

The visit was aimed at strengthening institutional relations and promoting collaboration between the NCCE and the Ghana National Fire Service in the interest of community safety, public education, and civic awareness.

Upon arrival, Mr. Ernest Mensah and Mr. Seth Appiah, both Civic Education Officers of the NCCE, were warmly received by ADOI Desmond Addo, second-in-command of the operational and administrative unit of the Biakoye District Fire Service, together with his staff.

ADOI Addo expressed the Fire Service’s readiness to collaborate with the NCCE on a joint calendar of activities. He indicated that the proposed partnership would include community outreach programmes on fire prevention, safety awareness, and emergency preparedness in the coming months.

According to him, such collaboration would help equip community members with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent fire outbreaks and respond appropriately during emergencies.

On behalf of the NCCE, Mr. Mensah expressed appreciation for the cordial relationship that has existed between the two institutions over the years. He reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the Ghana National Fire Service and work together to enhance community safety and public education within the district.
