Ga South NCCE urges Pupils of St. Peter R/C Basic School to Champion Environmental Protection

The Ga South Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has called on pupils of St. Peter Roman Catholic Basic School to play active roles in safeguarding the environment.

During the engagement, NCCE officers Mr. Dan Abonyi Yamoah and Ms. Rita Dzifa Aklinu educated the pupils on the importance of maintaining clean surroundings and the civic responsibility of every citizen to protect natural resources.

They highlighted the dangers of environmental degradation, citing indiscriminate waste disposal, pollution, deforestation, and poor sanitation practices as major threats to public health and ecological balance.

The officers admonished the pupils to cultivate environmentally friendly habits and serve as ambassadors of environmental protection within their schools, homes, and communities.

Mr. Yamoah further encouraged them to embrace the Three Rs of conservation: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, as practical steps to minimise waste and promote sustainable resource use. He emphasised that adopting these simple practices could make a significant difference in protecting the environment for present and future generations.

The session concluded with a call to put into practice the lessons learned and inspire others to adopt responsible environmental behaviours.
