ASPIRE TO BE GOOD CITIZENS

The Okere District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) had an interactive session with pupils of the Dawu Presby Junior High School as part of the 2023 Citizenship Week celebrations. The theme for the celebration is, “30 Years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy and Building National Cohesion: The Role of The Ghanaian Child”.

The resource person for the engagement was Godfred Alexander Bonney. Mr. Bonney explained the mandate of NCCE to the pupils stating that the Commission among other functions exists to create and sustain awareness of the principles and objectives of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

He encouraged the pupils to stay respectful in their dealing with their peers, and the elderly, participate in community work, obey rules and regulations, show love and patriotism to their nation, Ghana, and should always keep the environment clean.

The District Health Promotions Officer at Okere mentored the pupils with his heart-warming life experiences and admonished them to take their studies seriously to become valuable citizens in the future.
