A delegation from the Parliamentary Service Board, led by the Director of Public Engagements, Superintendent Efia Tenge (Rtd) has called on the management of NCCE in Accra to begin talks on how the two institutions can collaborate to deepen citizens' appreciation of democratic principles and objectives. The collaboration will also enhance civic and democratic values among the citizens of Ghana.
The Director of Public Engagements, Parliament of Ghana, Supt. Mrs Efia Tenge (Rtd.) was certain the collaboration will better position the two democratic enhancing institutions; NCCE and the Parliament of Ghana, to change the narrative on citizens' understanding of democracy and its relevance to national peace and democratic governance. She praised the NCCE for its commitment to delivering effective civic education in the last 30 years.
The NCCE’s Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations, Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah, and Deputy Chairman, Finance and Administration, Lawyer Victor Brobbey both welcomed the delegation and took them through the Commission's flagship programmes and communicated the NCCE's position on the proposed collaboration.
Mr. Samuel Asare Akuamoah suggested some critical areas to consider when both institutions decide to work together. He also expressed NCCE's readiness to partner with the Parliament of Ghana to engage citizens on democratic values and principles.
Also present at the meeting were senior officials from the NCCE and the Parliamentary Service Board.
