The Mamprugu Moagduri District office of the NCCE hosted an engagement session with youth groups at the Assemblies of God Church in Yagaba. Attendees included youth groups, persons with disabilities (PWDs), artisans, and notable figures such as the District Police Commander and the assembly member for the Yagaba electoral area.
The meeting focused on equipping the youth to recognize and prevent potential terrorist threats in Ghana. The District Police Commander addressed the gathering, highlighting that while Ghana has not yet experienced a terrorist attack, neighbouring countries like Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Nigeria have been significantly affected by extremist activities. He underscored that youth unemployment remains a pressing security threat, as it can leave young people vulnerable to recruitment for illicit activities. The Commander urged the youth to pursue artisanal and vocational skills to build sustainable self-employment opportunities, fostering stability within the district.
