ESHEW VOTE BUYING - NCCE SENSITIZES THE TOLON DISTRICT

The Tolon District of the Commission, Northern region commenced its sensitization on the Constitution Day with identifiable groups. The officers called on the people to remain united for the development of the District and the country at large.

They were encouraged to uphold the principles of participatory democracy that hinge on the sovereignty of the people where elected officials merely serve as bureaucrats. The people were also educated, that participatory democracy guides representatives to make decisions based on the interest of the people and that decisions made should adhere to the fundamental laws. The team also craved the indulgence of the citizenry to reject any violent politician and resist any attempt of vote buying (Ayaaluna).

At the end of the day, the importance of the Constitution Day instituted to commemorate the birth of the Fourth Republican Constitution was highlighted. That is the day the Constitution came into being, the 7^th of January 1993 and therefore the need to sustain it.
