This activity forms part of the Commission’s Constitution Week Celebration commemorated every year from 28th April 2023. The Chairman of the programme was DCOP (Deputy Chief of Police) Charles Dormaban, the Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service.

The NCCE Oti Regional Director, Mr. Robert Boame in his opening remarks attributed the success of the Fourth Republic, the longest-serving Constitution to the collective efforts of various stakeholders including the Ghana Police Service.

Mr. Boame admonished the Police Service to focus on their primary function of maintaining law and order in the country. He also advised officers to exhibit professionalism when interacting with citizens, bearing in mind the fundamental human rights of people as non-negotiable in line with Article 12 (1) of the 1992 Constitution.

Mr. Boame, in his concluding remarks, emphasized that for democracy to be sustained in the Fourth Republic, the Police as a critical stakeholder must be unbiased, and able to discharge their services fearlessly and with all integrity.

The Police Officers thanked the Commission and encouraged them to help educate citizens working efficiently with the Police Service to ensure law and order in our communities.
