NCCE STAFF WINS MAYDAY AWARD

Hajia Salamatu Sulemana, an Assistant Civic Education Officer of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the East Gonja Municipal office has won a National May Day Award for the year 2018. Over 500 unionised workers drawn from both public and private sector organisations converged at a ceremony that took place at the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly District Town Park in Walewale on Tuesday, 1st May 2015.

Hajia Salamatu was noted to have worked for the union for the past 24 years and to honour her contribution to the Union activities and Mother Ghana, she was awarded a Citation, and a “32” inches plasma TV. This year’s national May Day was celebrated under the theme: “Sustainable

Development Goals and Decent Work: the Role of Social Partners”.

Hajia Salamatu Sulemana joined the NCCE in 1994 and has served in various capacities in the Public Services Workers Union and East Gonja District Council of labour. The Positions she held in the union include: the Trusteeship, Secretary and Vice Chairmanship of the Public Service Workers Union and also served as a Secretary to the Women’s Committee of the East Gonja District Council of labour.
