The New Juaben South Municipal Office of the National Commission for
Civic Education (NCCE) has visited Freeman Methodist Junior High School as part of activities commemorating NCCE’s Annual Citizenship Week Celebration. The theme for this year’s celebration is; “30 Years of Consolidating Democracy and
Building National Cohesion; The Role of the Ghanaian Child”. The celebration targets the in-school youth to equip them with knowledge of their rights, responsibilities, limitations, and freedoms to equip them to be responsible adults in the future.
A Principal Civic Education Officer (PCEO) at the District, Lydia Laryea spoke about the responsibilities of the Ghanaian child in nation-building. Ms. Laryea urged the pupils to be respectful, law-abiding, patriotic, and submissive. She asked the pupils to protect school and state property and be accountable when they take up leadership roles.
