THE NCCE SENSITIZES CITIZENS ON THE RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT 2005 (ACT 989)

The Tano North Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) was hosted on Jewel 102.7FM at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region on the 17th of November, 2022 at 9:00 am on the Right to Information Act 2005 (Act 989).

The resource persons were Madam Adiza Gyengyenaa (SCEO) and Mr. Castro Kofi Appiah (ACEO). They sensitized the public on the Right to Information Act 2005, 989 which promotes transparency and accountability by empowering people to access information on central and local governments as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Madam Adiza Gyengyenaa further explained the need for the public to actively explore the Right to Information Act 2005. Mr. Castro Kofi Appiah also reiterated to listeners how to access information in various state institutions.

This step by the Commission is necessary because citizens must be made aware of this Act and be empowered enough to solicit information when needed. This will help keep the government and other governmental institutions in check.
