The South Dayi District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has in partnership with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) organised a peace walk through the principal streets of Kpeve in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region.
It aimed to drum home the demand for peaceful elections on December 7.
Engaging with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the walk, Mr. Mathias Segbefia, District Director, NCCE, said the peace walk aimed to promote a peaceful electoral environment, tolerance, and stability.
He said it was also meant to make collective commitment to a peaceful electoral environment, discouraging misinformation before, during, and after the polls.
Rev. Frank Adjei, Chairman, Christian Council, South Dayi District, charged the participants to love peace rather than war.
Rev. Adjei, also an IPDC member, said peace in a country is essential for economic growth and development as it creates a favourable business environment, promotes trade, and attracts investment.
