NCCE REACHES OUT TO SEKONDI CIRCUIT OF THE METHODIST CHURCH ON COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged the constituted Standing Committee for COVID-19 Protocols Observation of the Sekondi Circuit of the Methodist Church, Ghana.

Members of the Committee were tutored on safety protocols and the mandatory measures put in place by the government and health authorities to contain the spread of the Coronavirus disease, especially during religious gatherings. The reopening of churches and mosques came with strict conditions and observance of safety protocols.

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Director of the NCCE, Kwame Tugbenu took the Committee through the preventive measures outlined by the Government and the Ghana Health Service and entreated the leaders of the church to encourage frequent hand washing under running water with soap and the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

He reiterated the need to ensure the wearing of face masks by members of the Church and ensure the regular disinfection of the places of worship. The team from NCCE again reminded the church to ensure physical distancing and adhere to all the directives issued by President Akuffo Addo ahead of the reopening of church activities.
