The National Commission for Civic Education - Eastern Regional Office, in collaboration with the 67th Independence Local Planning Committee, Center for National Culture, and Eastern Star Choral, held its 2nd edition of the Independence Choral Concert dubbed " Patriotic Songs' and its significance to Youth Development". The venue was the Center for National Culture.

Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, the Eastern Regional Minister who doubles as the Chairperson for the 67th Independence Local Planning Committee, in his speech emphasized the significance of Unity and Diversity of our Ghanaian people.

The main speaker, Ms. Ophelia Nana Yaa Ankrah, National Commission for Civic Education, (NCCE) Regional Director admonished the youth to be patriotic citizens, not to allow themselves to be used as agents of distraction, not to engage in any act of defacing posters and snatching ballot boxes in the full glare of people (in a 'Rambo' style) as the country prepares to go to the polls this year.

Ms. Ankrah, reiterated that we all find ways and means of ensuring that we live in a spirit of peace, reconciliation, and tranquillity so that in unity we can forge ahead in all aspects of our developmental efforts to promote better living conditions now and for posterity.
