The Greater Accra Regional NCCE, working with the Greater Accra Regional Peace Council, convened youth and community leaders for a focused engagement on violent extremism and vigilantism. The programme sought to build the capacity of participants to identify early warning signs of conflict and promote peaceful political participation within their communities. Present at the event were Mr. Mawuli Agbenu, Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, Mr. Henry Attoh Okai, and Ms. Theodora Williams Anti of FOSDA.
Discussions highlighted the dangers posed by extremism, political vigilantism, and intolerance to democratic stability. Participants were encouraged to channel their political views through lawful means and to serve as advocates for peace in their respective constituencies. Through the initiative, NCCE reinforced its central role in educating citizens on democratic values and ensuring that young people remain constructive contributors to national development rather than instruments of violence.
