NCCE launches ‘dance to the beat’ electioneering peace campaign

In the heart of Accra, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park was a spectacle to behold on the 11th of November as the National Commission for Civic Education(NCCE) launched its election year flagship programme dubbed, “Dance to the Beat of Peace Campaign”.

Geared towards promoting political tolerance in the imminence of the 2024 General Elections, “Dance to the Beat of Peace” is a communication intervention spearheaded by the Communications and Corporate Affairs Department of the Commission.

It is employed by the Commission to sensitise the citizenry from a place of fun and ebullience, which is believed to attract and hold the attention of the youth, especially, who are the targeted niche of this activity.

During the launch, members of staff and some volunteers, clad in political paraphernalia capturing all thirteen (13) presidential candidates of the December 7 Polls, danced to several popular African songs, while some others wielded placards that displayed a myriad of peace and election-related messages.

In the coming days, the team will be making whistle stops at vantage points in many parts of the country in a bid to herald and promote peace before, during, and after the Elections.

Watch out for the team along the stretch near you.
