NCCE intensifies voter education in North Dayi

As part of the NCCE's effort to increase voter turnout and reduce the number of rejected ballots in the up coming 2024 general election, the North Dayi District office, Anfoega, has intensified its voter education activities to sensitize potential voters, especially first-time voters, on how to vote.

The District Director, Mr. Simon Mawuko, Ms. Christime Dey (CEO) and Ms Mavis Kojopah (CFO) have taken their activities to the streets of North Dayi, hairdressing shops, tailoring shops, market places, and Senior high schools within the constituency.

Ms Christine Dey explained that as a registered voter, you have the right to choose a candidate by casting a secret ballot and keep your vote secret. Therefore, one must not make any form of identification or write one’s name on the ballot paper. She further urged potential voters to make a clear thumbprint against the candidate they wish to vote for in order to make their vote valid.

Ms. Mavis Kojopah (CFO) on her part cautioned first-time voters not to make more than one choice on the ballot paper. She asked potential voters to look for an official mark from the Electoral Commission at the back of the ballot paper before casting their vote.

Furthermore, Mr Mawuko called on qualified voters to come out in their numbens and vote in the up coming Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 7th, 2024 from 7am to 5pm. He urged students who registered to vote to be law-abiding at the polling station , give other voters the chance to vote , vote only once and leave the polling station after voting .

He concluded by calling on all citizens to embrace peace before, during and after the 2024 general election.
