NCCE ENGAGES TRADERS, MARKET WOMEN ON COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOLS

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) at the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Office has engaged traders and market women at Bogoso Market in the Western Region on COVID-19 safety protocols, specifically on the mandatory wearing of a mask. The exercise forms part of the Commission's public education and sensitization campaign on the COVID-19 safety protocols as part of the measures to curb the spread of the virus in the country.

The Programs Officer at the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Office of NCCE, Mr. Justice Oscar Ackon entreated the traders, market women, and other salespersons to wear their face masks anytime they come to the market to do business. He urged them to practice regular hand washing, to regularly sanitize their hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, as well as ensuring social distancing in the market to protect themselves from possibly contracting the coronavirus. He again alerted the market women to insist that customers and clients be in a mask before attending to them.

Mr. Ackon added that parents should ensure that their children practice regular hand washing, using alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and wearing the face mask before, during, and after school. He said this will help protect the children and those around them from contracting and spreading the virus.
