NCCE ENCOURAGES CITIZENS TO GET VACCINATED

The Abuakwa North Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), embarked on a public sensitisation exercise to educate the public on the need to get vaccinated. The exercise took place on a market day at the main market of New Tafo in the Eastern Region.

Senior Civic Education Officer, Beatrice Budu and Assistant Civic Education Officer, Andrews A. D. Oyinka, entreated citizens to ignore the myths about the COVID-19 vaccine and get vaccinated to help contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The Civic Education Officers assured the public that the COVID-19 vaccine was safe, free, and effective as it had passed through all the phases and tests involved in vaccine development and had been approved by the Food and Drugs Authority. Citizens were advised to always verify messages they receive on the coronavirus vaccines and to only share authentic information coming from trustworthy websites like the Ghana Health Service, Ministry of Health, or the World Health Organization.

Additionally, the public was urged to continue to adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols even after getting vaccinated, as the vaccine only complements the safety protocols.
