NCCE empowers Youth of Weija to own their destiny

Commission Secretary of the National Commission for Civic Education, Lawyer Mrs. Lucille Hewlett Annan has drawn the attention of the youth of Weija to the expediency in taking responsibility for their actions.

She made this profound statement during a youth engagement, which took place in the auditorium of Mendskrom Presbyterian Church within the Weija-Gbawe Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

Lawyer Annan, touching on post-election violence, indicated that no one should be willing to put his/her life on the line to support the course of a selfish, unpatriotic politician whose only concern is to either win or retain power, adding, “Once you help them achieve their goal of causing disturbance and you are arrested, there is no way they will come to your aid”.

She thus urged them to rather fixate on building a legitimate livelihood for themselves to make their families proud, highlighting the need for them to identify their areas of interest and go all out to pursue them.

The NCCE and European Partnership for Democracy are in a collaborative bid towards ensuring that the youth and women of the country contribute their quota in the sustenance of peace and unity; as these sects of the population play a critical role in the development of our nation.
