The Jirapa Weavers Association Zone Two on 16th May 2026 held a graduation ceremony for newly trained weavers at St. Anthony Primary School in Jirapa. The program brought together trainers, graduates, community members, and invited dignitaries to celebrate the successful completion of the trainees’ weaving apprenticeship.
During the program, dignitaries were given the opportunity to address participants on issues of national development and public health. Speaking on behalf of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Sulemani B. Derigubah educated the graduates on the topic “Peaceful Coexistence and National Cohesion.” He emphasized the importance of maintaining good relationships with customers, colleagues, and members of the community, stressing that peaceful coexistence is essential for personal growth, business success, and national unity.
He encouraged the newly trained weavers to uphold tolerance, mutual respect, and cooperation in their daily interactions to help promote harmony within society.
The audience was also sensitized on Hepatitis B, described as a silent killer. Participants were advised to take preventive measures seriously and were encouraged to vaccinate against the disease to protect their health and wellbeing.
The program ended successfully with appreciation expressed to all participants and organizers for making the event a success.
