NCCE CONTINUES PUBLIC EDUCATION ON COVID-19

The Ahafo Regional office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has educated the general public on COVID-19, the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus.

The Acting Ahafo Regional Director, Mr. Eric Adu educated passengers on COVID-19 in buses at Goaso main station in the Ahafo region. Mr. Adu took passengers through what the coronavirus is and how a person can get infected. The education focused on the symptoms of the coronavirus commonly fever, tiredness and dry cough and offered preventive measures that can be taken to protect oneself. These include regular hand washing under running water, use of hand sanitizers with at least 70% alcohol, avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth, and maintaining good personal hygiene.

In a related development, the Head Office of the NCCE has also engaged in street and market sensitisation on the coronavirus. Staff of programmes and the Communications and Corporate Affairs department engaged community members in La, Teshie Nungua, Adabraka, Circle and Tema station. The team also interacted with pedestrians and market women in areas including Odorkor, Makola, Kantamato, and Kaneshie markets.
