NCCE ADMONISHES CITIZENS TO RESPECT DISSENTING VIEWS TO STRENGTHEN OUR DEMOCRACY

The District Directorate for the NCCE in the Fanteakwa South District - Osino engaged learners of Kwampaw Preparatory Schools on Peaceful Coexistence, Non-violence, and Political and Religious Tolerance. The District Director for NCCE, Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare made learners aware that the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana, Article 41(c) admonishes citizens to foster national unity and live in harmony with others and Article 41(d) entreats all citizens to respect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interest of others, and refrain from doing acts detrimental to the welfare of other persons.

Mr. Kwadwo Adu-Asare, went further to educate learners to strive to adhere to the provisions of the Constitution to the benefit of the citizens. He further reiterated that as citizens we should respect every religion in the country irrespective of which one we belong to and also learn to accept dissenting views since that strengthens democracy.
