JOINING VIOLENT EXTREMISTS IS EQUAL TO SLAVERY, ONE’S SAFETY IS NEVER GUARANTEED

The West Mamprusi Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged students of Walewale Vocational Senior High School in the North East Region on 18th May 2023 at the School's Assembly Hall.

Mr. Michael A. Ayomah, an Assistant Civic Education Officer engaged the students on Violent Extremism and the effects of engaging in or joining violent extremist groups. Also, Mr. Ayomah urged the students not to be deceived into joining any such group, as that can ruin their careers and future aspirations.

He reiterated that there is no shortcut in life. They must study and become successful people. He added that joining these extremist groups is equal to trading your rights and freedoms, which is equal to slavery.

Again, the students were advised to be observant of their colleagues and report to the school authority any signs of radicalization. He took them through some signs of radicalization for easy identification.
