The Obuasi District Director of the NCCE, Mr. Adam Siddique Zagoon has called on citizens to protect and safeguard all government projects in their various communities. He made this when he engaged the Adansi Odumasi Community on Social Auditing, an NCCE/EU programme to promote community ownership of projects, to build the capacity of the citizenry to hold duty bearers accountable and increase citizens’ participation and awareness on Local Governance System.
The community as part of their concerns, mentioned water, gutters, light polls, speed rums, farmlands, clinics, daycare centre as their development challenges. A clinic and a day-care centre for children are ranked the topmost priorities. At the end of the engagement, the Chief and Member of Parliament for Obuasi East District promised to give land and commence construction of a clinic and daycare centre for the community through the MPs, Common Fund.
Mr Adam Siddique Zagoon urged Ghanaians to change their attitudes towards communal labour and engage in community development exercise and protect the environment from filth.
The Assembly Member for the Adansi Odumasi, Mr Ankanpong Fofie advised the community members to always take part in social development activities. He reiterated the call for Ghanaians to change their attitudes towards communal labour and engage in community development exercise and protect the environment from filth. He thanked the NCCE for its efforts and commitments to stirring civic consciousness among Ghanaians.
