The Ga West Municipal Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has organised a Citizenship Week Celebration activity at George Manieson Memorial Preparatory School in Mayera, engaging pupils on the urgent need for responsible digital citizenship.
The event is part of the Commission's nationwide agenda to instil civic responsibility anad constitutional values among young Ghanaians. It also sought to highlight pressing issues such as misinformation, disinformation, cyberbullying, and cybercrime.
Municipal Director Edith Akpene Awudor, serving as the resource person, urged the students to embrace positive use of technology while safeguarding themselves against online fraud and abuse.
She emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing, respecting the rights of others on digital platforms, and upholding the values of good citizenship both online and offline.
The interactive session allowed the young learners to ask questions and share personal experiences, reflecting their growing awareness of both the opportunities and challenges of the digital environment.
The Commission continues to empower young Ghanaians to use technology constructively while promoting constitutional values that strengthen our democracy.
