ATIWA EAST NCCE LEADS CITIZENS TO HOLD DUTY BEARERS ACCOUNTABLE

The Atiwa East District Office of the Commission, in collaboration with the Atiwa East District Assembly, Eastern Region, held a Community Durbar at Nanapa. The Durbar aimed at promoting accountability, and inclusive participation in the governance process. The programme brought together duty bearers within the District to discuss issues affecting the community and how to address them. Among the key stakeholders were the District Chief Executive, District Directors of Health, Education, Agriculture, Community Development and Social Welfare, Environmental Health, Ghana Enterprise Agency, and CHRAJ, among others.

Issues discussed include school dropouts, teenage pregnancy, inadequate classrooms for Kindergarten, and poor road network. The community was also sensitised on the importance of community participation in local governance and issues surrounding the 2024 general elections.
