The NCCE, in commemoration of its Citizenship Week Celebration, continues to intensify the call for responsible digital citizenship. In this light, the Adentan Municipal Office has made a stop at the Fortified Christian Academy in Ashiyie, where students were engaged on the theme, “Growing Up in the Digital Age: The Ghanaian Child Upholding the Constitution Online.”
Delivering an extensive presentation on the theme, Vida Obeng Addo, with the Municipal Office, who served as the resource person, emphasised that technology has become an integral part of children’s lives and must be used responsibly, guided by constitutional values.
She highlighted the importance of respecting the rights and dignity of others in digital spaces, cautioning the students against spreading false information, engaging in cyberbullying, or sharing private details that could endanger themselves or others.
The session also introduced students to their civic duties under Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution, demonstrating how these responsibilities extend into online environments. Practical examples were cited to illustrate how digital actions can influence individuals, communities, and the nation at large.
After a lively question-and-answer session, the young learners pledged to uphold responsible digital citizenship. Meanwhile, school authorities commended the NCCE for its unwavering commitment to promoting civic awareness and constitutional education among Ghana’s youth.
