Working Visit by the Deputy Chairman (F/A) of NCCE to the Upper Region

The Deputy Chairman, Finance and Administration of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Victor Brobbey (Esq.) paid a working visit to the Upper East Region as part of activities aimed at raising awareness on the European Union (EU) sponsored Preventing and Containing Violent Extremism (PCVE) project in the Northern Regions of Ghana. The Deputy Chairman participated in some activities including cinema shows, community engagement with identifiable groups, and in-studio radio discussions.

While in the region, Victor Brobbey (Esq.) attended cinema shows organized by the Regional Office at Nyariga, a peri-urban community in the Bolgatanga Municipality, and at the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School. The cinema shows fall under the second phase of activities on PCVE focused on face-to-face engagements with vulnerable and at-risk youth in communities and Senior High Schools (SHS). He was also a participant in a community programme at Gane-Asonge in the Nabdam District, organized by the NCCE District office, where community members were sensitized on PCVE and related issues.

The Deputy Chairman had 2 in-studio media engagements on A1 Radio and GBC URA Radio on Friday, 16^th February 2024 (8.30 am to 10.15 am) and on Saturday, 17^th February (8.00 am to 9.30 am) respectively. The Discussions focused on PCVE, the 2024 General Election, and constitutional reforms. He then attended a conference on Leveraging Indigenous Knowledge For Development at Akayet Hotel, Bolgatanga, and paid a courtesy call on the President of the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs, the Chiana Pio, Pe Ditundini Adiali Ayagitam II at his Palace in Chiana in the Kassena Nankana East District. The Deputy Chairman ended his tour by attending a church service at the Lord's Mission Church, at Saboro a suburb of Navrongo in the Kassena Nankana Municipal, where the Regional Office of the NCCE sensitized the congregants on PCVE.
