UPHOLD GHANAIAN VALUES TO BECOME RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS -NCCE

The Kwabre East Municipal Office of the NCCE, has embarked on a series of civic engagements with some selected groups within the municipality namely: Alhuda Basic School, Abrim, Brofeyedu M /A JHS, Brofeyedu, Roman Catholic Church, Ahwiaa and some artisans within Mamponteng and its surrounding communities. The Municipal Director of Kwabre East of the NCCE, Nazif Sadisu Mohammed, and his staff actively engaged students and members of the public on the SIM re-registration exercise and other civic related issues.

The team engaged the groups on the values of patriotism, responsibility, integrity, hard work and honesty. Pupils were charged to uphold these values in order to become responsible citizens and leaders in future. The Civic Educators also encouraged the majority of citizens to re-register their SIM cards to avoid losing their SIMS. ‘The SIM card re-registration exercise will prevent criminals from using the telecommunication platform to engage in all manner of fraudulent activities, also, help the government to have a reliable data for the purposes of policy and decision making’, the team added.

Nazif Sadisu Mohammed, the Municipal Director, in his presentation, took the pupils through the hopes and aspirations as well the guiding principles of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and duties of a citizen which are found in the Preamble and Article (41) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana respectively. He urged all the pupils to join the NCCE’s Civic Education Clubs explaining that the CEC platform enables them to understand and appreciate the 1992 Constitution of Ghana in order to aid their personal growth and liberty and national development.
