The Okere District Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Godfried Alexander Bonney engaged beneficiaries of the Livelihood Empowerment against Poverty (LEAP) of Okra Kwadwo and Gali Kope, suburbs within the Okere District.
During the engagement, he urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the limited Voter Registration exercise being carried out by the Electoral Commission (EC) especially those who have now turned 18 years old and those who for one reason or another could not register during the previous Voter Registration exercise. He encouraged them to approach the EC for further information to enable
them to participate in the fourth coming Unit Committee and District Level Elections and subsequently, the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.
Furthermore, the beneficiaries were made aware that the local governance system requires their participation in town hall meetings and elections so that duty-bearers would be held accountable for their stewardship. Finally, he hinted that once they participate in the decisions taken, they would reflect their views and welfare.
