RESPECT AND TOLERATE THE VIEWS OF FELLOW CITIZENS

The Sunyani West Municipal Director of the NCCE has educated students, teachers and parents of the St. Peter De Paul Primary and JHS on “Cultural Diversity and Cultural Tolerance” as the school celebrates its Catholic Educational Week.

The Municipal Director, Ms. Margaret Abrafi Appiah in her presentation said Ghana is blessed with diverse cultures and people. She said the 1992 Constitution of Ghana acknowledges this diversity. She was quick to add that citizens must remember that the same constitution also frowns on cultural practices that dehumanize individuals or groups.

Ms. Abrafi Appiah charged participants to live in harmony with every citizen referring to Article 41(c) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana. She said, “Tribal or ethnic backgrounds should not divide us as a nation but rather be pillars of our democracy”. She stressed on the need for the participants to be honest, respectful, tolerant, and respect the views of fellow citizens.
