The Lambussie District Director, Mr. Paul Kwame Ganvu has sensitised traders at the Piina Market in Lambussie on the importance of national values and their direct link to national growth and development. The engagement is in line with the national programme guide on Article 41 of the 1992 Constitution which talks about good citizenship.
Mr. Ganvu explained said as a nation or community, we can better develop and prosper when there is a deliberate move to make citizens cherish and embrace Ghanaian values. These values must be nurtured and deliberately instilled in minds of every citizen of Ghana. He mentioned some of the values which include integrity, honesty, patriotism, responsibility, hard work and discipline.
He said a person of integrity will eschew bribery and corruption, and cultivate an attitude of tolerance and patriotism. He urged the audience present to be diligent and hardworking in their chosen fields of occupation as well as show respect to elders, persons in authority and government to promote peace and national development. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of discipline in all their endeavours.
