NCCE URGES CITIZENS TO GET THEIR GHANA CARDS

The Keta Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Godwin Kwame Agbenyo has called on Ghanaians to come out in their numbers and register for the Ghana Card. He made this call when he addressed the Anloga District rally of the E.P. Church at Atorkor, Zoom Lion workers at Keta, and artisans in various parts of the municipality.

Mr. Agbenyo said, ‘the time has come for the nation to have a national register that would provide accurate and comprehensive personal information on all Ghanaians’. This will, therefore, require that all qualified citizens must show up at registration centres with the mandatory verification documents to be able to take part in the exercise. A relative who has already registered and has the Ghana Card can also vouch for a new applicant. In the absence of a relative, the new applicant would have to find two (2) people who have already registered to vouch for the person. He also stated that the card has visible and invisible features like the Tactile Ultra Violate feature to help the physically challenged and another feature is the ECOWAS logo which allows the bearer to travel to all countries within the West African Sub- Region.
