NCCE Marks Constitution Week with Civic Engagement in Central Tongu

The Central Tongu District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) on April 28, 2026, commemorated this year’s Constitution Week Celebration with an engagement for members of the Tailors and Seamstresses Association at Adidome Totimekofe in the Volta Region.

The program, themed “Upholding Our Constitution in the Digital Age: Our Collective Responsibility,” aimed at creating awareness about the dangers of misinformation, disinformation, and related cybercrimes, while promoting digital technologies as tools for accessing civic and constitutional information.

Speaking at the event, the District Director, Mr. George A. K. Amey, stressed the need to safeguard constitutional values and encouraged participants to promote responsible digital engagement and respect for the rule of law.

Mr. Frank Eli Azumah, the District Programs Officer, noted that misinformation and disinformation could destabilize democratic states if not checked, and urged participants to verify information before sharing it.

Chairman of the association, Mr. Nicolas Atofi Totime, thanked the NCCE for the engagement and pledged the association’s commitment to promoting the rule of law.
