NCCE Engages Nsutaman SHS Students on Civic Responsibility and Social Media Ethics

Sekyere Central Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has engaged students of Nsutaman Senior High School (SHS) in Nsuta on the theme “Ghana’s Future: Our Collective Responsibility.” This forms part of the Commission's deliberate measures to instilling civic consciousness among students while emphasizing their distinct roles towards national development.

Programmes Officer of the Directorate, Douglas Kwame Amoako, facilitating the session, urged the young ones to be circumspect and conscious of their behaviour online. “You have to bear in mind that the internet never forgets, so be careful of what you post”, he advised.

Highlighting the sub-theme, “The Dos and Don’ts of Social Media,” students were also enlightened on responsible conduct to exhibit on the digital space as well as the impact of mis/dis/malinformation, and the relevance of observing optimum ethics on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, District Director of the Sekyere Central Office, Mr. Gordon Yeboah Opoku, charged the students to be active participants in the nation-building agenda, adding that their attitudes should foster national unity and promote peace wherever they find themselves.

Students expressed immense gratitude to the team for such an insightful session and pledged to pass on what they have gathered to their family and friends back at home.
