NCCE Educates Assin Foso Artisans on Environmental Sanitation

Members of the Peace and Love Artisan Association in Assin Fosu have received education on environmental sanitation, with emphasis on proper waste management, responsible waste disposal, and maintaining clean workshop environments.

The engagement was aimed at equipping the artisans with practical knowledge on proper sanitation practices and encouraging them to keep their workplaces clean to prevent diseases and promote a healthier working environment.

Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Michael Sagoe and Madam Theresa Avoka** highlighted the health risks associated with poor sanitation. They explained that dirty and poorly maintained workshop environments can contribute to the spread of diseases and infections, including cholera, diarrhea, and skin infections.

They therefore urged the artisans to adopt daily cleaning routines at their workplaces and ensure that waste is properly collected and disposed of at designated locations.

The resource persons also encouraged the artisans to maintain proper drainage around their workshops to prevent stagnant water and the accumulation of waste, which could create unhealthy conditions and increase the risk of disease outbreaks.

In response, members of the Peace and Love Artisan Association expressed appreciation for the engagement, describing the education as a timely reminder of their responsibility to maintain clean and healthy working environments.

The artisans pledged to put the lessons into practice by improving sanitation around their workshops and making regular cleaning an essential part of their daily activities.

The engagement underscored the importance of collective responsibility in promoting environmental sanitation and protecting public health within the Assin Fosu community.
