National progress requires citizen participation

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in Kwahu South has embarked on a post-election sensitisation campaign to promote effective citizen participation towards good governance. The team visited four churches, which include the Twenedruase S.D.A., Seventh Day Theocracy, Obo RIIS Presbyterian Church, and Asakraka True Faith Evangelical Church, and engaged congregants on the need for an all-hands-on-deck approach to build the Ghana we want to see.

The team, led by Municipal Director Ms. Ticklar Asante-Asiamah, emphasized that democracy extends beyond voting and requires continuous citizen participation. The team educated congregants on their civic responsibilities, accountability, patriotism, and the role of unity in national progress.

Church members expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged to uphold their civic responsibility. The NCCE aims to extend similar engagements to more communities, collaborating with religious and civic groups to foster informed and active citizenry.
