MAMPRUGU MOAGDURI DISTRICT OF THE NCCE ENGAGES THE YOUTH

The Mamprugu Moagduri District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) with support from the European Union has sensitised selected youth groups of Yagaba on PCVE at the Girls Model School, Yagaba.

The Mamprugu Moagduri District Director of the NCCE, Mr. Salifu Ibrahim, stated that the engagement with the youth groups was to ensure that the youth understood the negative consequences of joining extremist groups as well as appreciate the legal framework that barred the activities of violent extremists and terrorist groups in the country.

“Peace and national cohesion is what is needed to develop our communities. Let us live peacefully with one another regardless of our religious, political, or ethnic differences”, he added.

Inspector Rexford Cobbold, District Police Commander for Mamprugu Moagduri explained violent extremism and radicalisation to the participants and urged them to take their personal safety seriously.
