The Yendi Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr. Osman Kassim has engaged citizens in the ongoing Electoral Commission's Limited Voter Registration Exercise. The engagement forms part of the NCCE's activities on the limited voter registration exercise to help educate the public on the electoral process to foster an all-inclusive election in the Upcoming District Level Elections.
During his media engagement on Naya Radio, Mr. Kassim encouraged citizens to participate in the exercise enumerating who qualifies and who registers for the voter’s identification. He noted one a Ghanaian, must be 18 years or above and of sound mind.
Mr Kassim also touched on the guarantor system and emphasized that in cases where an applicant did not possess a Ghana card or passport, another registered voter could serve as a guarantor. He also stressed that guarantors should only vouch for individuals they were certain that the information provided by the applicant was accurate. This, he said was crucial to maintain the integrity of the voter registration process.
