Garu NCCE Monitors the Limited Voter Registration Exercise

The Garu Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) of the Upper East Region visited the premises of the Electoral Commission to witness electoral processes during the limited Voters’ Registration exercise.

The District Director, Mr. Akolgo Samuel, and an intern from the University for Development Studies (UDS), Solomom Nangbar monitored and interacted with the Electoral Commission District Director, Mr. David Amoah. Mr David commended the Commission for monitoring the exercise.

He commented that as of 24 September 2023, two thousand and seven-eight (2,078) people had registered. It was observed that four hundred and ninety (490) people registered with Ghana Card and one thousand five hundred and eighty-eight (1,588) registered with the support of guarantors. He further stated that the replacement of voter’s ID card will begin on October 3 at a fee of 10 cedis. He added that those who want to transfer their votes to other districts also have the opportunity to do so from the 3rd to the 9th of October.
