Damongo Wura Engaged on Peace and Information Integrity

The West Gonja Municipal Directorate of the NCCE, led by the Municipal Director, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, paid a courtesy call on the Damongo Wura and his elders as part of efforts to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the municipality.

During the visit, the Municipal Director engaged the Chief and his council on the importance of peaceful coexistence as well as the dangers of information disorder such as misinformation and fake news in our society. Discussions centered on fostering unity among residents and promoting responsible information sharing to prevent the spread of false narratives that could incite conflict or disrupt social harmony.

The Damongo Wura commended the NCCE for its role in civic education and pledged to collaborate with the Commission to support its mandate of promoting peace and civic responsibility in the municipality.
