The Amansie West District Directorate of the NCCE, educated students of Mansoman Senior High School on the dangers of information disorder. Topics discussed included disinformation, misinformation, hate speech, and malinformation. The event was a follow-up to previous engagements held before the 2024 general election, which focused on fostering peace before, during, and after the election process. As part of the initiative, the students had previously participated in creating a peace message video titled Agents of Peace.
During the session, Mr. Laryea reiterated the continued relevance of the video, emphasising its advocacy for peaceful coexistence. After screening the video, which addressed issues such as misinformation, disinformation, and religious tolerance, he urged the students to become active agents of peace. He stressed the importance of responsible communication on social media and the need to counter false information that could disrupt societal harmony.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. Laryea reminded the students that peaceful coexistence is a constitutional duty under Article 41(c) of the 1992 Constitution. He encouraged them to uphold this responsibility for the progress and stability of the nation.
