NCCE FORMS CEC AT FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

The Accra Metropolitan office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has formed a Civic Education Club (CEC) at the Fountain of Youth International School.

The CEC was formed by Civic Education Officer, Mr. Nana Kwesi Boateng who introduced the work of the NCCE to the pupils. He said the NCCE operates to educate Ghanaians on the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and the civic rights and responsibilities of citizens.

Mr. Boateng indicated that the formation of CECs in schools is one of the strategies of the Commission to encourage the study of the Constitution, to broaden, deepen understanding and knowledge of the youth on democracy and nation-building. He added that the Commission will organise an excursion for the pupils to visit Parliament House and the Supreme Court to have in-depth knowledge on how laws are made and interpreted respectively and encouraged all pupils to join the club.
