ONE GHANA MOVEMENT DONATES WASTE BINS TO NCCE

The One Ghana Movement has donated forty branded waste bins to the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to support its public education on sanitation in public schools.

The Chairman of the Commission, Ms. Josephine Nkrumah received the bins on behalf of the Commission. She expressed gratitude to the One Ghana Movement saying, ‘One Ghana Movement has shown to be a dependable partner. On behalf of the NCCE, I would like to say thank you for the kind gesture’. Ms. Nkrumah said the issue of sanitation is high on the Commission’s agenda and this was evident during its 2018 and 2019 Citizenship Week Celebration. She reiterated the themes for the 2018 and 2019 Citizenship Week celebration thus ‘The Environment and You’ for 2018 and ‘A Clean Ghana, Our Responsibility’ for 2019. She added that the bins would be given to selected basic schools that have shown commitment in segregating their waste.

The Executive Secretary, of One Ghana Movement, Ms. Emily Kanyir Nyuur officially handed over the bins to NCCE on behalf of the Movement. She said that One Ghana Movement is very happy to support NCCE with the bins and are open to help a worthy course. She said the sanitation campaign by the NCCE is in line with their ‘Adopt a Bin Program’, where bins are provided at vantage places to help reduce the temptation of people throwing refuse indiscriminately. She said, ‘we have all seen the dangers plastics pose to our society. So we are excited to reach out to the younger ones who are major sanitation change agents’. She called on the media to support the NCCE and One Ghana Movement in making Ghana a clean country.
